Emerging Leadership Program

Join a program designed specifically for next generation family business leaders. This program will allow you to meet with other emerging business leaders to discuss business strategy, leadership styles, and the challenges related to working within a family-business dynamic. The program will include individual meetings geared to enhance leadership awareness and group meetings to increase leadership effectiveness. Katy Mitchell, M.A. and Justin Anderson, Psy.D., L.P., will facilitate the program and provide a framework for achieving leadership goals.

The goals of the program are to:

• Increase individual leadership awareness: strengths, limitations, and individual styles.
• Identify and discuss challenges when working within a family-owned business.
• Offer resources and guidance regarding key business, family, and ownership transitions.
• Connect with other emerging leaders to share perspectives, ideas, and strategies.

Throughout the course of the conversations the Emerging Leaders will:

• Clarify leadership vision–personal, family, organizational, market.
• Ground leadership in core values and principles.
• Develop leadership competencies.
• Build communication skills (e.g. conflict resolution, influencing, motivating employees).

Upon completion of the program, participants will have:

• Created a development plan.
• Assessed leadership of strengths and limitations.
• Enhanced awareness of the challenges and best practices when working within a family business.
• Developed a network of peers who are in similar situations from multiple industries.
